LUIS OMAR TAPIA

It is undeniable that Tapia is the face of the UEFA Champion’s League in Latin‐America and in the U.S. With phrases like “Comienzan los 90 minutos del Deportivo mas hermoso del Mundo”, (“We kick off 90 minutes of the world’s most beautiful sport”) Tapia has delighted UEFA’s fans for over 24 years.

Tapia began his career in 1991, announcing play‐by‐playsoccer matches of the Champions League, La Liga Española, Italy’s Serie A, Liga MX, Copa MX, among others. He worked as an On‐Air Sports Personality for Fox Sports Latin-American, GolTV, ESPN, TV Azteca and beIN Sports.

In 2006, he became the first foreign play‐by‐play announcer in Mexico, to call games of Mexico’s First Division of Liga MX and MNT friendly and official matches.

He is currently an On-Air Talent for Univision Deportes Network and Fox Deportes in Mexico.
